About the Role
Bronx Neighborhood Housing Services (BNHS) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Program Manager to oversee our Healthy Homes Production Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Healthy Homes Production Program, ensuring its successful implementation and compliance with HUD requirements. This role is critical in improving housing-related health and safety hazards for Bronx residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive work plan for the program
2. Manage program timelines, milestones, and deliverables
3. Oversee the assessment and remediation of housing-related health and safety hazards
4. Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and BNHS policies
5. Manage program budget and expenses
6. Prepare and submit required reports to HUD and other stakeholders
7. Coordinate with partner organizations and community stakeholders
8. Oversee outreach and education initiatives related to healthy homes
This is a contract position funded by the HUD Healthy Homes Production Grant, with an expected duration of 3.5 years. This is a full time position starting salary range $70K - $80K.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public health, urban planning, construction management, or related field; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in housing rehabilitation, lead hazard control, or related field
Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in grant-funded programs
Knowledge of HUD regulations, particularly those related to lead-based paint and healthy homes
Familiarity with construction practices and building codes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Lead Risk Assessor or Inspector
Experience with HUD-funded programs
Bilingual in English and Spanish
